Dinosaur tracks
On the Otjihaenamaparero farm at the foot of Mount Etjo, tracks left by Ceratosaurus and Syntarsus in the 190 million year old sandstone were declared a national monument in 1951.

Hoba meteorite
20 km from Grootfontein, visit the Hoba West farm and admire the largest meteorite known to date. Declared a national monument in 1955, it was discovered in 1920 by Jacobus Hermanus Brits. Fallen 80,000 years ago, it is believed to be between 200 and 400 million years old. Composed of 84% iron and 16% nickel, it weighs more than 60 tonnes.
